"I'm very glad to say that we managed to get all members of the MRM team around the Tough Mudder course last weekend. It took us over 5 hours and there were some very tough moments but together we able to persevere and complete all the obstacles. Many thanks to everyone who donated and provided support to our team. We are delighted to have raised over £1,000 for the Captain Seath Memorial Fund. It's fantastic to support such a great cause which is so close to our hearts."

MRM Brand conquer Tough Mudder Scotland raising over £1000 in support of David’s legacy
David was a close friend of MRM CEO Craig Letton and his wife Gemma. David and Craig studied Management together at the University of Aberdeen and formed a strong friendship through playing Lacrosse together for the Aberdeen University Lacrosse and for Scotland.
“As CEO of a marketing software company called MRM, I signed up my team to take part in Tough Mudder Scotland and chose to use this as an opportunity to fund raise on behalf of the Captain David Seath Memorial Fund.
“I met David Seath in my 1st week staying at Crombie Halls at Aberdeen University. Both David and I were studying Management and had also recently joined the University Lacrosse team.
“During my 4 years at Aberdeen, I spent a huge amount of time with David studying, partying, working out and playing lacrosse. As a result, we formed a very close relationship and we stayed in touch after leaving Aberdeen where David joined the military and I moved to England for work.
” In 2016, David tragically died running the London Marathon and in his memory, his brother Gary setup the Captain Seath Memorial Fund which so far has supported over 250 personnel and veterans living with life changing physical injuries and PTSD through Help for Heroes.
” It is with great pride that all of the MRM team were able to complete the Tough Mudder course and were able to raise over £1,000 for the Captain Seath Memorial Fund. It’s great to know that David’s legacy continues to live on through the memorial fund and we were able to contribute to such a great cause.”
Gary Seath said:
“We are incredibly grateful to Craig, Gemma and the team at MRM Brand for completing Tough Mudder Scotland in support of the Captain David Seath Memorial Fund. As a family, we are overwhelmed that so many of David’s friends, from his time at Aberdeen University, have come forward to raise money in support of his legacy, which demonstrates a real and lasting esprit de corps; something David valued very highly as an Officer in 29 Commando Regiment Royal Artillery.
“For Craig and the team to have raised over £1000 at a time when fundraising can prove challenging is an exceptional effort and, thanks to their efforts, our work with continue supporting personnel and veterans, living with life-changing physical and psychological trauma in David’s name, through the Captain David Seath Memorial Fund.”
The Captain David Seath Memorial Fund has raised £280,000 and provided over two-hundred and fifty welfare grants to personnel and veterans of the British Armed Forces living with life-changing physical injuries and psychological trauma through Help for Heroes, the charity David was running for that tragic day.
David’s memorial fund is making a huge and lasting difference to its beneficiaries. Every donation made in his memory is used to support Help for Heroes’ Quick Reaction Fund (QRF) which provides specialist sports equipment, respite breaks and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) therapy, as well as facilitating supported employment placements, training courses and the setting up of small businesses.
